Task
A packaging system for chocolate coated wafer products was installed for a leading American confectionery company. Together with a partner company, the overall solution consisting of a distribution and feeding system, a gondola buffer in the function "discharge buffer" and the packaging machines was designed and delivered as a turnkey solution.
The task was as follows:
- Takeover of different product sizes from the upstream processing line on a belt conveyor and harmonisation of the product rows for the subsequent production steps.
- Integration of a rejection device for individual products out of a full product row that were individually reported as defective by the upstream baking and enrobing system.
- Conveying and distribution system with 4 discharge stations for the demand-oriented distribution of part of the chocolate products to 4 packaging legs in front of the buffer.
- Rejection of complete rows directly in front of the buffer if required.
- Intermediate storage of the products by means of a gondola buffer system. Discharge of chocolate products as required to 2 packaging legs directly out of the buffer.
- Installation of the buffer through a mezzanine floor with accessibility and operation on both floors.
